Trump gives Iran 48-hour deadlin: Open Strait of Hormuz or face attack | World | News

Donald Trump has given Iran a 48-hour ultimatum to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or risk having its power plants “hit and destroyed.”
This follows statements by foreign ministers of the G7 countries saying they are “ready to take the necessary measures to support global energy supplies”.
The following statements were made in the statement: “We condemn in the strongest terms the (Iranian) regime’s reckless attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, including energy infrastructure, in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Iraq, in line with UNSC Resolution No. 2817. The Iranian regime’s unjust attacks against these countries also threaten regional and global security.

“We demand an immediate and unconditional halt to all attacks by the Iranian regime. We reaffirm the importance of maintaining the safety of sea lanes and navigation, including the Strait of Hormuz and all related critical waterways, as well as the safety and security of supply chains and the stability of energy markets.” Mirror.
“We are ready to take the necessary measures to support global energy supplies, such as the release of stocks agreed by members of the International Energy Agency on March 11.”
Trump posted on Truth Social: “IF Iran DOES NOT FULLY OPEN THE Strait of Hormuz WITHOUT THREAT WITHIN EXACTLY 48 HOURS from this point, the United States of America will strike and destroy various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE LARGEST FIRST! Thank you for your interest in this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
An hour after Trump’s threat, Iran responded with its own ultimatum via state-run news network Fars.
A spokesman for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (KACHQ) said: “If the enemy attacks fuel and energy infrastructure, all US and regime-owned energy, information technology and desalination infrastructure in the region will be targeted.”
KACHQ is Iran’s top military command, responsible for planning and coordinating joint operations between Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
