Trump Goon Melts Down Defending Kennedy Center Disasters

Kennedy Center president Richard Grenell is twisting the story after a long-running musical show became the latest incident since the performing arts venue’s tacky renaming. The Washington National Opera announced Friday that it will be leaving the Kennedy Center after more than 50 years in residence. The group told NPR that the split was amicable and a result of the venue’s new business model, which requires artists to fully fund their productions upfront. “Opera companies typically cover only 30-60% of costs through ticket sales, with the remainder coming from grants and donations that are not available years in advance when productions need to be planned,” the group said in a statement to the public broadcaster.
