Victims in Lakewood murder-suicide identified as shooter’s wife and his youngest daughter

A Lakewood father shot his wife and youngest daughter Thursday, then opened fire on his oldest daughter, killing himself in front of her, authorities said.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon around 7:55 a.m. Thursday morning in the 5800 block of Lorelei Boulevard near South Street.

According to authorities, the caller said his father shot at him and that he was now lying unconscious on the ground next to him.

When deputies arrived, they were greeted by an “extremely distraught” 19-year-old woman, who was taken into custody for questioning after coming out. They found three people dead inside the house; a young girl, a man and a woman.

Deputies entered the home and found the woman’s father, 52-year-old Hector Lionel Alfaro, lying on the floor of the home’s den with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

As deputies continued to move through the home, they found Alfaro’s 48-year-old wife in the bedroom with a gunshot wound to the torso.

In the second bedroom, deputies found a 17-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. It was later determined that she was Alfaro’s youngest daughter.

The 19-year-old woman, who is said to be Alfaro’s eldest daughter, heard gunshots inside the house while she was sleeping.

Alfaro then appeared next to him with a gun in his hand and shot him several times; but he was not shot.

Alfaro later shot himself while standing next to his 19-year-old daughter.

The 19-year-old suffered no injuries and was taken to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station for questioning by investigators. LASD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra stated that he is not a suspect or a suspect in the case.

The lieutenant confirmed a gun was found in the home.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters cleared the area at 8:51 a.m. and did not take anyone to the hospital, a Fire Department spokesman said.

A 17-year-old girl and two adults were found dead after a triple shooting at a Lakewood home Thursday morning, authorities said.

“There is no threat to the general public and there are no outstanding suspects,” Rogers wrote on social media.

Sheriff’s Capt. Daniel Holguin told reporters at the scene: “Obviously this incident is a tragedy. Lakewood is one of the safest cities in Los Angeles This will certainly impact our community regarding this tragedy, but as (Vizcarra) said, at this time this appears to be an isolated incident and there are no public safety concerns at this time.”
