Since 1981, the Federal government has been on the verge of partial closure since 1981, because MPs have not agreed on one -quarter of the optional funding plan for the new financial year or $ 7 (A11 $).

On September 19, a Stopgap bill was passed to finance the government until November 21st, the House of Republican controls under the control of the Republic. The bill was inadequate in the Senate, where the Republicans needed 60 votes.

The Senate Democrats rejected the bill and demanded that any legislation has taken back the last deductions in health programs.

Republicans now have 53 seats in the Senate compared to 47, which were held by the Democrats, and have a majority of 219-213 in the Assembly.
