ICE official says Portland police absent due to city directives

Nevertheless, Wamsley said that the ice personnel were committed to their duties despite unrest.

“People working here are here to serve the American people,” he said. He continued: “They are here to implement the same immigration laws we have entered into force since the 1950s. Nothing has changed in this regard. We come to work every day. We do our job as we do and we will continue to do it.”

Todd Rignel, Deputy Special Representative for Internal Security Investigations in Oregon, said that Federal agencies aimed at the anti -independent groups accused of organizing most of the restlessness.
