Trump-Putin hail Alaska summit fails to reach a breakthrough

US President Donald Trump and Russia’s high betting summit between Vladimir Putin did not result in a breakthrough even when describing the Trump summit as “productive”, Putin proposed another meeting in Moscow.
The White House initially attempted to provide a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine – his spokesman Karoline Leavitt called the summit “an exercise of a listening for the president”.
After the Friday meeting, Trump said, “There is no agreement until there is an agreement.” He said.
Ukrainian was not part of the debate and stopped concerns that a potential agreement could endanger the country’s sovereignty. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, before the summit on a mission on the X, “We are ready to work as efficiently to end the war of Ukraine and rely on a strong position from America … At least a meeting of Ukraine, American and Russian side leaders.” He said.
This was Putin’s first visit to the United States in about ten years, and the Russian President stressed that it was a “difficult time” for bilateral relations. The meeting was held in Alaska, which was once the Russian region.
“There were many points we accepted … I can say a few big points we didn’t come there, but we’ve made some progress.” He said. The leaders did not receive any questions from the press.

Putin called the talks “starting point”, both to solve the conflict with Kiev and to improve relations with Washington, “fell to the lowest point since the Cold War.”
Trump described Putin’s observations as “deep” and added that he would talk to NATO and Zelenskyy to update them about the discussions with Russia. “After all, it’s up to them,” he said.
“Many points have been accepted. There are very little left. Some are not so important.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, many peace negotiations have taken place, but there was no breakthrough for the end of hostility.
Russian media organizations were optimistic on Friday before Putin met with Trump and was seen as a victory for Moscow. Russian state news sites commented on the comments and negotiations for Russia as positive. The mood in Ukraine was gloom in the midst of the concerns of the country where some regions lost some regions as part of a Trump Brokered agreement.
