Leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan meet in new peace push

For a long time, enemies have continued to normalize their bilateral relations with high -level talks in Abu Dhabi, although no breakthroughs have emerged.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to the statements made from both sides, discussed the borders of other issues as well as the borders.
In 2023, Armenia lost control of the controversial Nagorno-Karabakh region during a lightning attack by Azerbaijan, which was authoritarian by Aliyev.
Following the meeting, the external ministries of both countries published close definitions that define direct dialogue as the most effective format to advance normalization.
The parties agreed to continue the negotiations.
In March, both countries said that they reached an agreement in a peace agreement text, but it has not yet been signed.
Pashinyan’s political influence was seriously weakened after losing the conflict forcing more than 100,000 ethnic Armenians to escape from Nagorno-Karabak.
