Trump reposts AI-generated video of plane dumping sludge on No Kings protesters | Donald Trump

Donald Trump on Saturday reposted an AI-generated video of himself flying a fighter jet emblazoned with “King Trump” and pouring brown mud on protesters in what appeared to be a response to widespread No Kings protests against his second presidency.

Video released by the president on Saturday night shows a sharply orange Trump wearing a gold crown and piloting a plane he has nicknamed “King Trump.” The video moves away from Trump and shows the plane firing bursts of brown matter into the AI-generated cityscape. A protester taking a selfie video shows the crowd being covered in brown liquid. The last frame of the 19-second video shows protesters evacuating in what appears to be Times Square.

The video includes a snippet of Kenny Loggins’ song Danger Zone, which was used specifically in the Tom Cruise classic Top Gun. On Monday, Loggins wrote: expression He said he did not allow his song to be used in Trump’s video.

“No one asked for my permission, and I would refuse, and I demand that my recording in the video be removed immediately,” he said. “I can’t understand why anyone would want their music used or associated with something that was created for the sole purpose of dividing us.”

This isn’t the first AI-generated video Trump has posted on his own timeline, which is filled with edited memes and videos praising the president and his allies while mocking his political enemies.

Earlier in October, Trump called his fellow Democrats “woke pieces of shit” by releasing a deepfake video (or an AI-generated clip that appears to be real) of US Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer. The video also included a racist depiction of Democratic U.S. House leader Hakeem Jeffries, who wore a fake mustache and fedora hat accompanied by mariachi music.

When asked to comment on the video, J.D. Vance defended it, saying he thought it was “funny.”

“You can negotiate in good faith while also having some fun with some of the absurdity of the Democrats’ positions,” the vice president said. “I’m going to tell Hakeem Jeffries right now, I make you a solemn promise that if you help us reopen the government, the sombrero jokes will end.”

Trump has also been criticized for using deepfake videos and AI-generated images to help him win the 2024 presidential campaign.

The Republican party generally seems relaxed about using AI-generated images and videos. On Friday, Senate Republicans’ social media account ran an attack ad against Schumer that used a deepfake depiction of the senator saying “it gets better every day for us” during the federal government shutdown. There was a small disclaimer in the corner of the video stating that it was created by artificial intelligence.

There were no Kings protests in all 50 states on Saturday; millions of people opposed the Trump administration; There were banners such as “sorry for being weird, this is my first dictatorship” and “No Kings since 1776”, a reference to the year the US declared independence from England.

In an interview before the protests, Trump said he did not accept the “king” label.

“They say they refer to me as the king. I’m not the king,” Trump said.

Trump took a tougher tone on Sunday comments to journalists. “I’m not a king. I’m busting my ass to make our country great. That’s it. I’m definitely not a king,” Trump said, adding that he thought the protests were “a joke.”

“The demonstrations were very small, very ineffective, and people were stunned,” he continued. “When you look at these people, they do not represent the people of our country.”
