US President Donald Trump said he made a trade agreement with Indonesia.
“A lot, for everyone, only with Indonesia. I worked directly with high respected presidents. Details to be followed !!!” Trump said in a article on real Social.
Trump threatened a tariff rate of 32 percent since August 1, in a letter sent to the president of the Southeast Asian country last week.
This month, including Trump, Canada, Japan and Brazil, sent letters to approximately two dozen trading partners, and from 20 percent to 50 percent blanket tariff rates and 50 percent tariff in copper.
The deadline for August 1 gives the time to negotiate agreements that can reduce tariffs threatened to targeted countries.
Some investors and economists also recorded Trump’s withdrawal of tariff threats.
Since the start of the tariff policy, Trump has reached trade agreements with three other countries: China, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
