Mike Tyson’s famous quote was: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

In terms of pure firepower, the greatest military machine in human history has completely overwhelmed Iran and is destroying the country.

But as American officials acknowledge, the Iranians are finding ways to fight back, and those who predicted pushovers are finding a more difficult path.

PUSHED IRANI WARNED REGIME IS AN AGGRESSIVE AND PATIENT THREAT WAITING TO BE ATTACKED ON AMERICA

The Trump administration’s announcement that 140 U.S. soldiers were injured in the initial attack, which killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior leaders, underscores the ability of even a crushed enemy to inflict pain.

As President Donald Trump sends very mixed messages about the duration of the war, the question remains: What is winning?

There are those, including Republicans, who want Trump to declare victory and withdraw. He can boast of thwarting the terrorist state’s latest attempt to develop nuclear weapons.

In fact, yesterday the president told Axios that the war would end “soon” because there was “almost nothing left to aim for.” This and that are very few… Whenever I want it to end, it will end.”

Trump’s statement: “We have done more damage than we thought possible.”

Just a few days ago, the president said the military operation against Tehran would last four to six weeks.

More important than the timing was Trump’s insistence that Iran must undergo regime change. He declared that the country must approve its next leader. This clearly did not happen, with the Iranians anointing the Ayatollah’s son, which Trump specifically described as unacceptable.

GOP SENATORS SAY TRUMP’S ATTACKS ‘SIGNIFICANTLY WEAK’ IRAN, BUT EMPHASIS THE ATTACKS AND NOT “ENDING WARS”

The nearly flawless quality of the U.S. kidnapping of Venezuelan leader Nicholas Maduro and seizing that country’s oil may have given the Trump team a sense of overconfidence when it came to Iran, which has a population of 90 million.

There is no doubt that Trump, who is allied with Israel, has made other serious threats against the Iranian regime that has bedeviled a succession of American presidents since the 1979 hostage crisis.

“If Iran does anything to stop the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, it will be dealt a blow 20 TIMES SEVERE than what it has already been dealt by the United States.”

But that’s exactly what the Iranians are doing; There are reports that they set up booby traps with land mines in the Bosphorus, which is an important transit point for world oil transportation.

Among other things, militias backed by Iran attacked hotels used by American troops, according to officials and experts cited by the New York Times.

A number of drones were launched at an affluent hotel in Erbil, Iraq.

An Iran expert at Johns Hopkins University told the newspaper that the Iranians learned from the first U.S. attack last June that the Pentagon lacked some missiles and defensive weapons that could intercept drones.

Another Times report, evaluating the first 12 days, concluded that Trump and his advisers “misjudged how Iran would respond to a conflict that Tehran sees as an existential threat.”

But Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told reporters: “I can’t say we predicted they would react exactly like that, but we knew it was a possibility. I think it was an indication of the desperation of the regime.”

Beyond weapons, the war launched by Trump has had a more predictable financial impact, creating economic uncertainty around the world.

Americans have been hit by rising gas prices and shrinking retirement plans. Market volatility and oil prices have been on the rise, but this has clearly increased feelings of anxiety.

Moreover, unemployment increased and tens of thousands of jobs were lost; This predates the war but may also be linked to the Supreme Court decision rejecting Trump’s tariffs.

America punched Iran in the mouth. However, the theocratic dictatorship can claim some sort of victory simply by surviving.

Trump, on the other hand, can increase his party’s chances in the midterm elections by bringing this war to an early conclusion.

This will also end a different war; It would also end a bitter debate within the MAGA coalition between those who advocate attacking Iran and those who believe he has betrayed his base by abandoning his America First promise to stay out of foreign wars.
