U.S. President Donald Trump had a physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Tuesday, and said the exam went “perfectly,” without providing details.

“Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff!” Trump said in a social media post.

The visit lasted three-and-a-half hours at the Bethesda, Md., military medical centre, and was his fourth publicly disclosed checkup since taking office last year.

The White House had announced the “routine annual dental and medical assessment” two weeks ago, describing it as a “part of his regular preventive health care.”

Trump, who turns 80 next month, has sparked concerns over his health after he was recently seen with swollen ankles and legs, and bruised hands.

The White House had attributed the bruising of his hand to frequent handshaking and aspirin use.

Officials offer few details on checkup

A White House official told reporters that details regarding the visit could be expected “in the next day or so,” ABC News reported.

Trump’s last physical was in April 2025, with his physician — U.S. Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella — concluding that he was in “excellent health” and “fully fit” to serve as president.

Earlier this month, ahead of Trump’s visit to Beijing to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the U.S. president’s health was deteriorating.

“He is unwell. And getting worse by the day,” Schumer wrote on X.

In response to Schumer’s comments, White House spokesman Davis Ingle said, “President Trump’s sharpness, unmatched energy, and historic accessibility stand in stark contrast to what we saw during the past four years when Democrats like Schumer intentionally covered up Joe Biden’s serious mental and physical decline from the American people.”
