Crack whip on Unhygienic Eateries: Annamayya Collector

-Anantapur: Food safety and civic authorities in Annamayya district have launched a special campaign against unhygienic hotels and restaurants, issuing warnings to many establishments for poor maintenance and violation of food safety norms.
Following complaints about unsanitary conditions, collector Nishanth Kumar ordered inspection in municipalities. The drive started in Rayachoti on Saturday, where food safety department and Rayachoti Municipality officials inspected restaurants near the bus stand.
Despite advance warnings to comply with hygiene standards, kitchens in many hotels were found to be dirty and food storage areas poorly maintained.
District food safety officer Shameem Bhasha said violators have been notified and warned that strict action will be taken if standards are not met. “Kitchens and serving areas must comply with food safety norms to prevent health risks to customers,” he said, adding that the district-wide inspections would continue in the coming days.
