President Trump has dealt Britain another blow after posting a Saturday Night Live clip appearing to mock Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his Truth Social account.
The actor, who plays a shaky Starmer in the sketch, is apprehensive about speaking to him. Donald Trump because he might “yell at me”. When he answered the phone, the actor playing Trump said “hello?” he says. While the Prime Minister is shouting, he immediately hangs up the phone.
It was later revealed in his comedy routine that Starmer was afraid to reject the US president’s demands that British warships be deployed to the Persian Gulf to help reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz.
“I hate conflict so much,” says the actor from SNL UK.
This followed another round of Trump’s sharp attacks on the British prime minister, who has become increasingly frustrated with US allies and their approach to the conflict with Iran, which they refuse to support.

Meeting with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin in the Oval Office on St. Patrick’s Day, Trump suddenly pointed to the bust of former British prime minister Winston Churchill on the table behind him.
“You see that man over there? Do you know who he is? The late, great Winston Churchill,” the President said. “And unfortunately Keir is no Winston Churchill,” Trump continued.
The president told reporters on Monday that he was “not happy” with Britain and that it “should be enthusiastically involved” in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump described Britain as the “Rolls-Royce of allies” and stated at a press conference later the same day that there were “some countries that have disappointed me greatly”.

Trump largely skipped diplomatic coordination with Israel when he chose to attack Iran in February. But because the conflict has significant geopolitical and economic consequences, he is now calling on NATO and other world powers to help find a solution to the situation.
According to the president, he has asked about six countries to send warships to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage that carries one-fifth of the world’s oil trade. But no one has made a commitment yet.
“We strongly encourage other countries whose economies are much more dependent on the strait than ours… we want them to come and help us with the strait,” Trump said Monday, listing Japan, China, South Korea and many European countries. he said.
Trump insisted that the shipping channel was not necessary because the United States has its own oil supply.
There is little evidence that other nations will respond to Trump’s call as oil prices rise and violence continues to escalate in the Middle East.
