Hill was helped off the field and had to be taken to the locker room. Referee Roy Ellison served as the chief referee for the remainder of the match.
Hill has served as an NFL official since 2010 and made his debut as a line judge in a game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys on September 12, 2010. He was promoted to umpire in 2019 following the retirements of Pete Morelli and Walt Coleman.
Ellison is also a long-time official and there has been some controversy regarding his career in the NFL.
