President Donald Trump announced that the United States would impose 10% tariffs on multiple European countries if Denmark does not agree to a “complete and total acquisition of Greenland,” warning that global security and U.S. national defense are at risk.
Trump made the announcement in a lengthy Truth Social post on Saturday, arguing that the United States has provided financial support to Denmark and other European Union countries for decades by not imposing tariffs and providing what he called “maximum protection.”
