Trump to deliver prime-time address in hours – ‘He’ll bomb Venezuela’ | World | News

As Donald Trump announced that he will give a national address at the White House on Wednesday, people are speculating that he might declare war on Venezuela. The US president has launched a series of escalating measures to combat drugs coming from the South American country, which many say could lead to the overthrow of his government.
Now he has made a vague statement about tomorrow’s address, leaving people guessing what it could be about. He wrote on social media platform Truth Social: “My Fellow Americans: Tomorrow night at 9pm I will PROMISE TO THE NATION LIVE BROADCAST FROM THE WHITE HOUSE. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It’s been a great year for our country and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
Some at X have suggested that Mr. Trump could declare an attack on Venezuela as the White House continues what it believes is a crackdown on drug trafficking.
The US President recently raised the possibility of military intervention, claiming the country is sending drugs to the US, but Venezuela denies this.
In response to Mr Trump’s statement, Polling USA wrote: “This is what you call declaring martial law or bombing Venezuela.” A minute later he continued: “He’s bombing Venezuela.”
Akash Maniam added: “It could be anything from invading Venezuela to another zero burger.”
Another user speculated: “War with Venezuela on Friday to distract from the Epstein files.”
Mayank Mishra joked: “We’re either going to war with Venezuela, or there’s a coffee mug with his face on it that Trump wants you to buy for Christmas. It could go either way.”
This comes as Trinidad and Tobago gave US military aircraft permission to use the country’s airports in the coming weeks, fueling theories that the US could strike Venezuela.
Washington has stepped up operations in the Caribbean and Pacific this year, including more than 20 attacks on ships suspected of drug smuggling that have killed nearly 90 people.
