NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Trump is urging House Republicans to vote to release files on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, insisting he has “nothing to hide” and accusing Democrats of using the case to distract from the GOP’s accomplishments.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump called the debate a “Democratic hoax perpetrated by radical left lunatics” and called on House Republicans to vote in favor of releasing the documents.

“As I told the Fake News Media on Air Force One Friday night, House Republicans must vote to release the Epstein files because we have nothing to hide and it is time to abandon this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Crazies to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown,’” Trump wrote.

Trump pointed out that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had previously published thousands of pages of documents related to Epstein.

He also said the agency was investigating possible ties between Epstein and “Democratic operatives,” including former President Bill Clinton, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

“The House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I don’t care!” Trump said.

He added: “All I care about is the Republicans GET BACK TO THE POINT, which is the Economy, ‘Affordability’ (we’re winning BIG here!), Our Victory in reducing Inflation from the highest in History to practically zero, Lowering prices for the American People, Making Historic Tax Cuts, Gaining Trillions of Dollars in Investment in America (A RECORD!), Rebuilding our military, Securing our border, Deporting Illegal Aliens.” Destruction of People, Women’s Sports, Stopping Transsexuals for All and much more!”

EPSTEIN DOCUMENTS RAISE NEW QUESTIONS ABOUT TRUMP’S CONDUCT IN CONDEMNING DEMOCRATS

Trump also argued that if Democrats “had something” it would have been revealed before last year’s presidential election.

“No one cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive, and if the Democrats had anything going for them, they would have released him before our landslide election victory,” Trump said. “Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being ‘used’ and we cannot allow that. Let’s start talking about the Record Breaking Achievements of the Republican Party and not fall into the Epstein ‘trap’ which is actually a curse not to us but to the Democrats. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
