Nicole Eggert grateful for health after breast cancer this Thanksgiving

“Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert sees every day as a gift after battling breast cancer for years.

While Eggert returns alongside Los Angeles Mission and Hope the Mission during Thanksgiving week, he spoke with Fox News Digital from Skid Row in Los Angeles about his current health situation.

Yıldız said that she was grateful to be able to celebrate Eid as a volunteer and that she was happy to have both of her daughters under the same roof during the Eid.

“I’m going to be here. It’s going to be my vacation. Every day is like a gift now, and… my other daughter is coming from New York. So we’re all going to be together, and there’s nothing like having both your kids under the same roof at the same time. It’s magical,” Eggert said.

Eggert has two daughters, Dilyn and Keegan. Eggert told Fox News Digital that it was not only important but necessary for her to have her daughter Dilyn by her side as she gave back.

“I’ll be here. I’ll have a vacation. Every day is like a gift now.”

“Well, it’s always important to give back. It’s just necessary. So I like that he can participate and he likes it too. He’s a good kid and, you know, we can get caught up in our privileged life and so I think it’s always important to look around and take good care of your city,” Eggert said.

In 2023, Eggert was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer. In August, she announced that she had surgery to combat breast cancer.

“I had a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery on Thursday. How was your weekend?” Eggert shared a post on Instagram. She added the hashtags #breastcancer #breastcancerawarness #feelyourselfup in the caption of her post and added Dr. of South Coast Plastic Surgery. He tagged Kyle Song’s Instagram page.

Eggert told Fox News Digital that he is currently in good health.

“I’m fine right now. I’m testing negative for any illnesses. So it’s great. It’s a month-to-month thing. So, it’s like, I get a clear bill of health and then I enjoy the rest of the month and then we do it all over again. So you know, it never ends. It’s always this journey. But I’m not complaining. So far, everything still looks good and the signs are clear,” Eggert said.

Eggert first revealed his diagnosis in a January 2024 interview. People magazine. The “Charles in Charge” star said she initially felt pain in her left breast and gained 25 pounds within three months.

Believing these to be symptoms of menopause, she was surprised to notice a lump during a self-exam in October. Eggert’s doctors diagnosed her with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in early December 2023.

Most cribriform carcinomas, according to the Cleveland Clinic breast cancer The cases are estrogen receptor positive and occur “when high estrogen levels in breast cancer cells help the cancer grow and spread.”

After the diagnosis, Eggert underwent her first mastectomy and lymph node surgery. The actor completed chemotherapy in July 2024 and underwent radiation therapy.

In a December 2024 interview with Fox News Digital, Eggert revealed that she would undergo a second mastectomy and breast reconstruction as the next steps in her treatment plan.

Following these surgeries, Eggert said she will either undergo a hysterectomy or begin hormone therapy, which will require monthly estrogen blocker injections for the next decade in addition to the two oral medications she must take for the next five years.

“There’s a lot in this,” he explained. “Mastectomy strange. I went into this thinking they would just remove the breast tissue and you would get rid of the stitches and scars and that’s it. But it’s so much more than that because they cut so many nerves. So this feeling and getting used to it is very strange.

“Also, removing lymph nodes is much more painful than a mastectomy,” she continued. “It is much more complex and affects the body much more. So I wasn’t really prepared for that because they didn’t mention that they removed the lymph nodes.

“This is something I have to figure out on my own,” Eggert added. “From my bed, ‘What’s wrong with me?’ I was saying. And exploring all of that, and then finding solutions that work for my body and trying things on and off until something works.”
