Food Safety Raids Expose Major Hygiene Violations at Nagole Eateries
Hyderabad: As part of the state-wide food safety inspections, Telangana Food Safety authorities inspected Urban Monk Fine Baking and Cyber Pearl Brewing Pvt. Major food safety and hygiene violations were detected in two restaurants, creating serious public health concerns. Ltd. (Meld House) on Nagole Main Road.
Violations included pest infestation, expired and mislabeled food products, improper storage of food, suspected repeated use of cooking oil, and poor hygiene conditions.
Similarly, during inspections in Karimnagar, serious violations were also detected at Ganesh Bangalore Bakery, Subhash Nagar, Mancherial Chowrasta. Authorities said that 750 damaged, smelly and housefly-infested eggs were found, and 20 kg cakes suspected to have been prepared using them were also thrown at the scene.
They said they threw away suspected reused oil and expired and spoiled food items at the scene. They took samples and sent them for analysis. Necessary action is being initiated against food business operators within the scope of the Food Safety and Standards Law.
At a public consultation, officials asked consumers to buy food only from hygienically licensed establishments and to report unsafe food practices to food safety authorities.
