Heathrow boss ‘frustrated’ for being asleep during fire

Heathrow’s boss, in March after a fire closure and cancellation of 1,300 flights to a large number of emergency phone calls that led to a “annoying”, he said.
Thomas Woldbye, who discussed the fire in a nearby electric transformer center that breaks flights for 270,000 passengers, said that this is not typically moving.
“I normally work like this, but all the right things happened at the operational level.” He said.
Mr. Woldbye admitted that the power outage would cost “millions”, but refused to determine.
Heathrow’s consequences fell by 37.2% in the first six months of 2025.
A review by former Transportation Secretary Ruth Kelly found that Mr. Woldbye had kidnapped two emergencies notification and “several” phone calls on the fire night and the next power outage because his mobile phone entered “silent fashion”.
In the early hours of March 21, Heathrow decided to stop operations at the airport. Mr. Woldbye noticed what happened at 6:45.
He told the BBC that he was satisfied with the crisis management procedures in place and took action while sleeping.
“Of course, an organization like ours should be able to manage if the captain is on the bridge, and in this case we have made the right decisions,” he said.
A research on how the fire started in an electric transformer center that provides power to Heathrow has discovered that it was the result of a known error in the field.
National Grid, the owner of the transformer center, has been aware of a problem since 2018, but he could not fix it.
While the results of the investigation by the National Energy Systems Operator (Neso) were published, Heathrow said he was considering legal action against the national network.
Heathrow uses electricity as much as a small city and has three connections to the grill.
Heathrow’s results of an increase in revenues by 1.9%, Neso report “national network electricity transmission, both Heathrows and a loss of loss for airlines,” he said.
Added: “Our expectation [National Grid] It receives accountability for these failures. “
