Abbey Clancy reveals she was rushed to hospital and put on a drip after breaking a nail during family holiday to Dubai

Abbey Clancy revealed that she was hospitalized and had an IV drip after breaking her nail during a family holiday.

The 40-year-old model flew to Dubai to celebrate the new year with her husband Peter Crouch and their four children.

But the holiday took a turn for the worse when Abbey broke her nail in a freak accident and ended up in hospital.

I’m talking about her and Peter’s Therapy Crouch In a podcast released on Tuesday, Abbey revealed that after hugging her friend, her acrylic nail bent backwards and broke her entire nail.

She said the wound began to flow with blood and she had searing nerve pain in her arm, shoulder and neck, the pain of the horrific injury reducing her to tears all night long.

“I suffered a serious injury,” Abbey said. ‘I was eventually taken to hospital. I broke my nail. It felt crazy and I was too embarrassed to go to the hospital.

‘We went out for a nice meal. Tom and Kaz came back to our room, had a glass of wine, the kids played. Then at 11pm, as I was going to bed, I hugged her and my acrylic nail bent back.

‘All my nails were torn off. It was raining with blood. Then it stopped and this nerve began to throb; It was going down my whole arm, down my shoulder, up my neck.’

He continued: ‘At 03:00 the doctor came into the room and gave me a painkiller drop. When we called the hotel reception, they asked: “Can we have some paracetamol?” I asked. They said, “We can’t give you paracetamol, we can’t give you ibuprofen.” So we had to wait for the doctor; This took two hours. Then the doctor came and said, “I’ll give you a drip.” This went on for another two hours.

‘Then Lucinda [her friend] He picked me up at 8 in the morning and took me to the hospital. I met the most incredible doctor, it was amazing because I have a hospital phobia and he was truly amazing. They injected my whole hand. They had to numb him – uh and that’s relief. Because I was standing crying from 23:00 at night until 7 in the morning, my hands under hot and cold water, my arms up, my arms down.

It sounds so sad. It sounds ridiculous.”

Peter later said: ‘I played golf the next day. And I said: “Guys, I can’t play, we were up all night. There’s no way we can come. Abs is in the hospital.”

“Oh my God, what is it?” they said. “He broke his nail,” I said. “Are you really kidding?” they said. “No, I swear it’s bad.” I said.

Abbey added: ‘The doctor said: ‘No painkillers can stop this pain; ‘You need a nerve blocker.’ That’s why they removed my nail.’

Speaking on her and Peter’s The Therapy Crouch podcast on Tuesday, Abbey revealed that after hugging her friend, her acrylic nail bent backwards and broke her entire nail.

It comes after Abbey credited ‘wonderful’ husband Peter for throwing her surprise 40th birthday party in the heart of Paris.

Reaching the milestone on January 10, Abbey was caught off guard when the former Stoke City and England footballer took her to the city of love, unaware that family and friends from around the world were waiting there to surprise her.

Sharing on Instagram on Monday, the model admitted she was touched by the gesture and praised Crouch for his thoughtfulness in organizing the surprise party.

She wrote: ‘What a beautiful weekend for my 40th birthday, I feel so loved, thank you to my amazing husband, my wonderful family and friends who came from all over the world to surprise me in Paris, I love you all.’

The post featured a variety of photos from her and Crouch’s big day after checking into the five-star Mandarin Oriental Lutetia in the capital’s Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Among photos of the couple’s immaculate double bed, personalized pillowcases and elegant evening dresses hanging on Clancy’s clothes rack, the model also shared photos of herself surrounded by friends and family while dining at a restaurant in Paris.

Elsewhere, Abbey posed for a bathroom selfie, seemingly braless, under the striking cream dress, complete with a thigh-high cutout.

But Peter had forgotten the expensive gift he had bought for his 40th birthday on the London Underground the week before.

Abbey was caught off guard after the former England footballer sent her to Paris to celebrate her 40th birthday, unaware that her family and friends were waiting there to surprise her.

Peter dropped off a bag from luxury diamond jeweler Jessica McCormack after a trip to their store in Mayfair.

While it is not known what Peter bought, the brand, whose spokesperson is Zoe Kravitz, sells high-end jewelery costing up to £300,000.

A fellow passenger noticed his mistake and kindly handed the gift to railway staff before reaching out to the couple on Instagram.

Accordingly SunHe replied: ‘Oh my God, it’s my birthday tomorrow. It must be my gift.’

The passenger shared a clip of the missing bag on TikTok with the caption: “POV: Peter Crouch leaves Abbey’s birthday present on the tube.”
