TTP threatens Pakistan’s security forces, rejects sectarian war in PoGB | World News

A newly released video message attributed to Tehreek-e-Taliban Diamer Gilgit Baltistan has triggered alarm, with the group signaling possible attacks on Pakistan’s security establishment while also claiming that it is not at war with any religious sect.
In a video posted on Facebook, the organization said its fight was against the Pakistan Army, intelligence agencies including the ISI and MI, and the police. The group has sought to draw a distinction between various religious communities in the region through its campaign against state institutions, insisting that Shiites, Sunnis and Ismailis are not its enemies.
The message also claimed that Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan (PoGB) does not inherently suffer from Shia-Sunni divide. Instead, speakers argued that ordinary citizens should maintain unity and avoid engaging in sectarian conflict; With this message, they opposed the actions of the Pakistani army in the region for a long time.

Diamer Deputy Commissioner Ataur Rehman Kakar said that around 11:16 am on Thursday, an improvised explosive device exploded near Tangir Bridge, about a kilometer away from FWO’s Tangir camp.
According to him, no group took any steps to accept responsibility during the conversation. Those injured in the explosion were transferred to government hospitals in Chilas.
Interim ministers, representatives of political and religious parties and voices from civil society in Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan condemned the incident and pressured the authorities to act decisively against militant elements, as Dawn highlighted.
The region has witnessed similar violence in the past. On August 29 last year, armed assailants opened fire on a security post on the Karakoram Highway in Diamer, killing two members of Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts and wounding another.
On August 31, fighters targeted a police patrol near Babusar Top in neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, injuring four police officers, Dawn reported.
