Tumbler Ridge suspect’s ChatGPT account banned before shooting

An OpenAI spokesperson said in a statement: “We proactively identified an account associated with this individual in June 2025 [Jesse Van Rootselaar] “Through our abuse detection and enforcement efforts, which include automated tools and human research to identify misuse of our models to further violent activity.”
