Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-politician Vijay, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, formed two special committees to negotiate seat-sharing arrangements with potential alliance partners and prepare the draft of the party election manifesto for the 2026 Assembly elections.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the party’s State and district level functionaries at the party headquarters in Panaiyur. The meeting passed a resolution giving Mr. Vijay the power to decide on the alliance and various responsibilities of the panel in negotiating seat-sharing arrangements with alliance partners, sources said.
In another resolution, it was stated that the party would welcome parties that accept Mr. Vijay as the face of the chief ministerial office. With nearly four months left for the Assembly elections in the state, the party is yet to form any alliance against alliances led by two Dravidian majors.
Additionally, PMK spokesperson K. Balu met TVK leaders, including party general secretary N. Anand and chief coordinator of the senior administrative committee KA Sengottaiyan, at the party headquarters and extended an invitation to mobilize broad-based support for the protest against the conduct of caste polls on December 17.
