Two arrests after pedestrian dies in crash
Two people have been arrested after a pedestrian in his 80s died after being hit by a car in Kent.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a gray Mercedes Estate and a pedestrian on the A290 Gads Hill in Gillingham at around 12.10pm on Monday.
The vehicle reportedly continued driving and was found on Eastcourt Lane, where the two occupants separated on foot. Police said the pedestrian was carried by the car and was found on the ground on Grange Road.

Later the same day, a 29-year-old from Chatham and a 28-year-old man of no fixed address were arrested in connection with the incident. They remain in custody.
Police have released CCTV footage of another man they would like to speak to about the incident.
