Two luxuries Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor still gets after arrest | Royal | News

Although public scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor remains intense following the former prince’s link to ex-convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, it has been reported that Andrew may still have two luxuries.

Earlier this month, Andrew left the former home he shared with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Although he now lives at the modest Marsh Farm, a downgrade from the 30-room mansion at Royal Lodge in Windsor, Andrew will still enjoy two amenities. A source said Sun: “At Marsh Farm he will be given his own chef and butler, which will be a stepping stone towards the luxury he had before.”

This is in stark contrast to Andrew’s former home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he used his former flat at Buckingham Palace, where he had butlers, chefs, butlers, maids and housekeepers, as well as an army of servants.

It is understood that Charles is now financing his younger brother’s exile and retirement because he does not want the former Duke of York to become a burden to others.

On Andrew’s 66th birthday, the former prince was arrested by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of abuse of public office and released under investigation 11 hours later. From 2001 to 2011 Andrew held the role of trade ambassador for the UK, which gave him privileged access to senior Government and business contacts around the world.

Andrew has vehemently denied all accusations made against him regarding the late financier.

A few hours after his arrest, King Charles issued the following statement: “I have learned with deep concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the suspicion of misconduct in public office. There is now a full, fair and appropriate process to ensure that this matter is investigated appropriately and by the relevant authorities. In this matter, as I have said, we have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me be clear that the law must take its course.”

“While this process is ongoing, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on this matter. In the meantime, my family and I will continue our duty and service to all of you.”
