Two men charged in £24M cannabis bust at farm raid

Two men have been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis after police seized an estimated £24 million worth of drugs in what is believed to be one of the largest ever seizures in the UK.

Musa Kala, 35, of Dunbar Drive, Bolton, and Raheem Latif, 27, of Leverhulme Avenue, Bolton, were remanded in custody to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police discovered a large quantity of cannabis during a raid at a property at Leigh Tenement Farm in Blackrod, Bolton, on Friday.

Following the operation, Detective Superintendent Joe Harrop said: “Our officers uncovered a large-scale and complex illegal operation involving a significant quantity of illegal drugs in the area.

“This seizure marks a major success for our officers, removing a major source of harm, disrupting criminal networks and helping to make neighborhoods safer.”
