Two women dead after reportedly trying to help animal on the road

Two women died after hitting a car on the Hume highway in the north of Melbourne, trying to help a wounded animal.

Emergency services, two women were shot by a car after the reports of a car around 19.30 Craigieburn Hume highway was called.

Two women who have just been identified have been taken to hospital, but since then they died.

The police said in a statement, “The exact conditions of the collision are being investigated, but it is believed that when women are shot, they may have come out of their vehicles that help a wounded animal on the way,” he said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and helps the police in his investigations.
