Tyga, Carnegie – The Age Good Food app listing
Tyga’s is a vibrant new spot on Carnegie Road.
Daniela Frangos
This shiny new venue blends 1970s Bangkok nostalgia with modern Melbourne energy. Borneo-born culinary director Esca Khoo (ex-Mrs Mi) jokes about tom yum burrata, which includes king prawns, heirloom tomatoes and soft donuts dipped in tangy, fragrant tom yum sauce, which you can find on Yaowarat, the main drag in Bangkok’s Chinatown. There’s also char-grilled sea bass in a turmeric-apple cider sauce and swordfish hinava, a Bornean ceviche. Rotating vinyl decks keep the vibration high.
Be sure to try: Wood-fired bone marrow coated with crab sambal, served with flaked coconut roti.
