On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Additional Chief Judicial Court in Sealdah rejected the appeal of the RG Snow Victim’s family to reach the scene of the family and asked questions about whether the family’s lawyers wanted to conduct a parallel investigation.
It should be noted that the doctor’s Central Investigation Bureau (CBI), which investigates the rape and murder case, is currently claiming that there is a larger conspiracy behind evidence and death.
During a hearing the previous day, the family’s defense for access to the scene unanimously opposed lawyers representing the Western Bengal government and lawyers representing the former manager of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Mr. Ghosh and Mr. Mondal are accused of dealing with evidence.
On the other hand, he did not make any objection to the CBI defense.

“The Court rejected our application to visit the scene by referring to the ongoing investigation. The Court observed that the state’s statement against us to visit the crime area was reflected in the application of Mr. Ghosh and Mr. Mondal.
The family’s lawyer said that the court questioned the CBI’s request for the defense of the family and expressed his concerns about the ongoing investigations of the case.
“Our claims to deal with evidence in the light of a corporate murder and a larger conspiracy have found more value in the observations of the court,” he said.
Meanwhile, the parents of the doctor who was raped and killed in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last year (RGKMCH) claimed that the CBI did not look at the findings of judicial reports on criminal and collected DNA evidence.
The victim’s father said, “During the court proceedings, many questions are asked about the crime locality that our current lawyers did not see themselves. So they had to visit him.” On Monday, July 7, 2025, they approached the Sealdah court and asked for the permission to visit the crime scene again.
On August 9, his daughters, who were a graduate intern at RGKMCH, were raped and killed in a seminar hall of the chest medicine section on the fourth floor of the hospital’s emergency building.
Dr. Söttarhi Chatterjeee, the current Medical Inspector and RGKMCH Deputy Director, said in a statement on Tuesday that the seminar room has been sealed since the incident, always a guard and around the outside.
During the relevant developments, the West Bengal Junior doctors’ Front, a torch rally from College Square and a protest meeting in Shyambazar on the night of August 8, and then an unfortunate incident called agitation. The victim’s parents previously said that on August 9, 2025, they would join the ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ (March Secretariat) rally.
