U.S. embassy in Oslo attacked with explosion, no injuries reported

Norwegian police are investigating an attack on the US Embassy in Oslo that caused no injuries and only minor damage.
In the midst of the war against Iran, Norwegian Justice Minister Astri Aas-Hansen is using “significant resources” to investigate potential multiple perpetrators.
“This is an unacceptable incident that we take very seriously,” he told Norwegian press agency NTB.
A “loud explosion” was reported at the US embassy in Oslo in the early hours of Sunday morning at 1am local time (7pm ET on Saturday), according to police, and witnesses told Reuters they saw heavy smoke at the entrance to the consular section.

“There was a very thick layer of smoke on the street,” said 18-year-old high school student Sebastian Toerstad, who was passing in front of the embassy at the time of the explosion.
“There was some damage to the entrance.”
According to the police statement, no explosive material was found in the area.

“Investigations are being conducted at the scene with the help of dogs, drones and a helicopter, searching for one or more potential perpetrators,” the Oslo police department said in a statement. The statement was included.
Norway’s police security service, PST, called in additional personnel following the incident but did not change the country’s terrorism threat level, according to communications consultant Martin Bernsen.

PST operations manager Mikael Dellemyr does not “attribute” the attack to U.S. bombings in the Middle East or to terrorist or Iranian retaliation.
Speaking to Oslo TV 2, the official said “it is still too early” for the investigation.
Fox News Digital reached out to the State Department for comment, but the department did not immediately respond.
