UFC contender Arman Tsarukyan starts brawl at wrestling event

A massive brawl involving one of the UFC’s top contenders broke out after a wrestling match got out of control on Saturday.
Arman Tsarukyan, ranked second in the UFC’s lightweight category, participated in the real American Freestyle wrestling match against Georgio Poullas, and tensions escalated at the end of the match.
When the match ended, Tsarukyan was seen pushing Poullas and immediately threw punches as the brawl started.
While authorities and others attempted to intervene and stop the confrontation, both teams of Tsarukyan and Poullas charged the wrestling mat and began exchanging shots with each other.

The altercation may have been caused by Poullas hitting Tsarukyan on the head during the match, which Tsarukyan was clearly unhappy about.

Head-slapping is something Poullas has been called out on in past wrestling matches, as former UFC heavyweight champion Belal Muhammad responded in a separate X post: “No, the other guy was dirty.”
Tsarukyan is also enjoying a winning streak in the UFC while remaining active in Real American Freestyle. He has won his last five fights, including a loss to Dan Hooker in November. Tsarukyan was even given a Player of the Night bonus for his performance in the Round 2 win.

Tsarukyan’s previous victory was a decision win over Charles Oliveira, and before that he knocked out Beneil Dariush in December 2023. Tsarukyan is 23-3 in her UFC career and could soon see a title fight against current lightweight belt holder Ilia Topuria.
