UK care home provider plunges into liquidation after racking up huge bill | UK | News

CMS Care Service Limited, formerly known as GHS Clinical Limited, appointed liquidators on 30 March 2026.

The company has been operating since 2021 and is headquartered in Bournemouth.

The Dorset-based company was a professional staffing provider of health and social care to adults and children who were disabled and/or required 24/7 care support services.

An official notice published in the London Gazette, the UK’s official publication for insolvencies, confirmed that CMS Care Service Limited had entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL) at the end of March.

At a general meeting duly convened and held on 30 March at Wilson House, Office 104, 2 Lorne Park Road, the following resolutions were adopted: “The voluntary liquidation of the Company and the appointment of Alexander Kinninmonth (IP No. 9019) and James Prior (IP No. 29250) of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, 3rd Floor, 2 Charlotte Place, Southampton, SO14 0TB, and hereby liquidators for the purpose of this liquidation and everything required or permitted to be done by the Liquidators shall be done by either or both of them.”

The maintenance company was ordered to go on a mandatory strike on December 9, 2025 due to non-compliance. This may be due to accounts not being filed, annual returns being incomplete, or penalties not being paid.

CMS’s overdue invoice is not publicly available at this time. However, according to Companies House, there have been no accounts accessible since 31 May 2024.

The company helped provide healthcare professionals to those in need. Their website says: “CMS Clinical is committed to improving the well-being of society by embracing diversity and promoting equity and inclusion for vulnerable individuals. ‘Safety and Service First’ is our motto, delivered by highly qualified, compliant and experienced healthcare professionals.”

Two creditors were appointed. Alexander Kinninmonth and James Prior, both from FRP Advisory Trading Limited.
