A city center in the United Kingdom was locked down after a motorist was arrested and a pedestrian was taken to hospital after the incident on Sunday evening. Pubs and restaurants on Friar Lane in Nottingham have been closed following reports of a serious accident in the city centre. After the collision, many police and ambulances were dispatched to the area, while unnamed pedestrians were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The city center section is a popular spot in the evening; However, things fell eerily quiet after the incident as many local businesses were forced to close early. Popular local spot Ned’s Cavern posted to its customers on social media.

The statement said: “Unfortunately we are having to close this evening due to an ongoing incident on Friar Lane, which has been closed by local police. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope to see you tomorrow.”
Officers have begun investigating the incident and are seeking witnesses and footage from the scene this evening.
The road was closed between Maid Marian Way and Beastmarket Hill while emergency services worked at the scene.
A police spokesman added: “If you believe you can help please call 101 quoting incident number 478 of 22 March 2026.”
