Deepak Chopra new AI companion was modeled on his life’s work

Bestselling author and wellness leader Deepak Chopra is optimistic about the possibilities of artificial intelligence. “The thing is, AI is here to stay,” he says.
Chopra believes that while technology can be harmful, it can also be beneficial, especially when used for self-discovery. Chopra recommends using AI chatbots to get to know yourself better and ask, “What is my purpose?” It suggests questions like: and “How can I develop self-compassion?”
Chopra recently launched an online campaign healthy living platform offers meditations, community discussion boards, and live sessions moderated by Chopra herself. And he trusts AI enough to create his own AI Deepak Chopra chatbot.
Unlike large language models like Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini, Chopra’s bot is what’s called a small language model. Instead of training the bot on all human knowledge, it is trained specifically on Chopra’s work.
“I’ve written more than 95 books,” he says. “I’ve given countless lectures. I have thousands of videos on YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. So I uploaded all of that to my AI.”
Chopra platform subscribers pay $10 per month, which includes chatbot access. Non-subscribers can pay from 50 cents per 30-minute session to $6 per month to use the bot.
The problem is that AI is here to stay.

Users can choose from existing prompts on topics like success, relationships, sex, and spirituality, or simply ask their own questions. The answers come back in text format and can also be played out loud with Chopra’s voice.
But Chopra says the bot has its limits: “We will not take precautions against suicide,” she says. “This is for professionals.”
Chopra’s chatbot won’t offer psychotherapy either, he says.
Chopra instead asked the bot, “I haven’t slept in five days, can you meditate on me?” It says you can give commands like. or “I’m having difficulty in my relationship because we can’t communicate.”
“Then we give you instructions,” he says.
Ultimately, Chopra says, she wants people to develop empathy, compassion, joy and peace of mind, and she wants to be an around-the-clock resource for users.
“You always carry me in your pocket as your friend,” he says.
He adds that he will not hesitate to continue to be present in his family’s life.
“My great-grandchildren will be able to chat with me long after I’m gone,” he says.
