UK gin distillery which produced 500,000 bottles a year enters liquidation | UK | News

The liquidation of Chase Distillery Limited was announced in the official gazette on Friday 27 March. The British alcoholic beverages producer, owned by international beverage giant Diageo, has undergone a significant restructuring process, resulting in the closure of its original production facility.
Diageo, founded by William Chase in 2008, acquired the company in March 2021 with plans to expand its range of “premium plus” spirits.
Diageo has initiated the liquidation process for Chase Distillery as a subsidiary, which is expected to be completed in June 2025.
The original “field to bottle” distillery at Chase Farm in Herefordshire closed permanently in January the previous year.
All distillation operations were transferred to Diageo’s Cameronbridge Distillery in Scotland, where famous brands such as Tanqueray, Gordon’s and Smirnoff are also produced.
The Chase brand’s Original Potato Vodka, voted “World’s Best Vodka” at the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Chase GB Extra Dry Gin and Williams Elegant Gin, among others, were marketed from the Scottish site.
In the document published on March 27, it was stated: “The creditors of the above-mentioned Company, which is being liquidated voluntarily, are notified.”
“Creditors who have not yet been able to prove their debt are instructed to provide their names and addresses and submit their proof of debt to the undersigned persons on or before April 24, 2026, the deadline for proof.
The government gazette also states, “A creditor who cannot prove his debt before the declaration of any dividend has no right to intervene because he has not participated in the distribution of that dividend or any other dividend before his debt is proven.” The statement was included.
