UK weather forecast maps shows snow barrage hitting 14 counties – full list | Weather | News

A brutal cold snap is about to freeze the UK and could hit the country within days. So far December has been pretty mild; However, this will soon end as a massive snow barrage will cover 14 counties.
According to weather charts, after a few warm weeks, the weather is predicted to soon begin to cool noticeably and temperatures will drop rapidly. WXCHARTS weather maps are turning purple and white, indicating snow will fall soon. With the onset of the winter front, snow may arrive in some parts of the country starting Friday, December 12.
At 3am on 12 December, English people living in Argyll, Bute and the Highlands were able to draw their curtains and reveal the snow. Large parts of the Highlands are expected to see 1mm of snowfall per hour, while Argyll and Bute is expected to see 0.5mm of snow.
This snow looks like it will stick around because it won’t change until 12:00. Fast forward three hours to 3pm; There will be glimpses of snow in Durham and Cumbria in the north of England.
These districts will see 0.5 mm of snow; However, the likelihood of sticking is unknown as weather maps indicate that large amounts of rain will also fall at the same time.
And it doesn’t look like the snow is here to stay, as much of northern England and Scotland looks set to be covered in a wall of snow at 3am on Thursday 18 December.
Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, is predicted to be most affected by the severe weather, as a whopping 2mm per hour could fall.
Those in Stirling could see 1mm of snowfall every hour. Elsewhere, Cumbria and Lancashire will see around 0.5mm of snow every hour.
The Arctic blast will also reach Gwynedd in north-west Wales and the Valley of Glamorgan in south-east Wales.
