UK weather: Yellow wind warnings to come into force with possible mountain snow

A yellow wind warning for north Wales, the north of England, and the south and east of Scotland will come into force at 05:00 GMT and will be valid until 20:00. The warning for Northern Ireland is valid between 06:00 and 12:00 GMT.
The strongest winds will blow in Scotland and Northern Ireland in the morning hours. Storms with speeds reaching 50-60mph will be common and a few stronger winds will be possible for a short time in the Hebrides. Some delays or cancellations on Scottish ferries look likely; Passengers are advised to check travel updates before departure.
In northern England, the northern Midlands and north Wales, winds will strengthen in the morning but will not peak until the afternoon. Winds will widely reach 50-60mph with a few gusts potentially exceeding 70mph for a short period.
The strongest winds will not just be on the coast and hilltops, but will extend as far east as the Pennines and Cheviot Hills.
There may be some disruption to transportation and winds may cause problems for high-sided vehicles. The northern parts of the M6, A68 and A1 can have some of the toughest driving conditions.
