Trump Drops New Plan To ‘Terminate’ Obamacare In Saturday Morning Rant

Minister Donald Trump In a speech at Truth Social on Saturday morning, he abandoned a new plan to “end” Obamacare and indicated that he supports the kind of subsidies central to a government shutdown.
Trump tried to deny there was any problem with “affordability” for several days after he and his party were bombarded on Election Day and as his administration fought against his order to pay SNAP benefits to 42 million Americans during the shutdown. And airline passengers began experiencing delays due to the closure-related reduction in flights.
The president was encouraging Senate Republicans to end the shutdown by eliminating the filibuster, which was the theme of early morning Truth Social posts.
But he also floated a plan to give premium subsidies directly to Americans, a key point for Democrats. Embers wrote:
I propose to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars that are currently being sent to the money-sucking Insurance Companies to get rid of the poor healthcare provided by ObamaCare, be SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE, SO THEY CAN BUY THEIR OWN MUCH BETTER HEALTH CARE, and keep the money left over. In other words, take it from the BIG, BAD Insurance Companies, give it to the people, and end ObamaCare, the worst Healthcare per Dollar spent anywhere in the world. Irrelevant, we still need to end the Filibuster!
Trump was unclear about how consumers would purchase health care from someone other than their insurance company. Trump also overestimated the amount of premium support paid. estimated Approximately 138 billion dollars for 2025.
This post came minutes after Trump wrote in another rant, “Democrats win by destroying our great, miraculous economy, which is exactly what they set out to do. END THE FILIBUSTER!”
