Ryder Cup 2025: Europe captain Luke Donald explains wildcard picks for Bethpage bear pit

Donald wants to use this sense of continuity in 2012 to find the formula that can give the first away victory since the ‘Miracle of Medinah’. To do this, the captain prepares his team to cope with an enemy atmosphere expected.
“Of course, it is quite special to remember what we are doing in Rome, these memories, these emotions, what we have achieved as a team,” he said.
“But in a different way, I want to approach a different set of eye as a different challenge. This will not be Rome.
“We enter the bear pit.”
Thus, the personnel may have almost changed, but the approach will be changed. Donald said, “We must come with a really renewed view of how we will deal with it.”
“Twenty months ago, when I made the captain again, this was my first thought. What are the things that have not worked in the Ryder Cups in the past and how can we correct it?
“In terms of a different communication with players, I have come from the best practices what the environment requires and really a deep dive and the best practices.
“As a captain, my goal is to create permanent memories with these players. We have to do this in Rome and hopefully we will do it in New York, we always create a week they remember.
“And I thought we had done a very good job in Rome. So it is a great task to make this week even better.”
Donald would not be scratched when Keegan Bradley would prefer himself as a game captain.
“I have always been able to influence my leadership, and I have tried to keep it completely out of control.” He said.
“We know, he’s one of the best players. And he’d be strong if he played.
He continued: “If he decided to do this, we knew that there would be a lot to try and try both. But he seems to have many plans.
“He made his decision. Instead, he decided he had a lot of talent.
“I know Keegan well. I understand that he will bring a good friend and a strong passion, he’ll try to ignite his troops.”
Now, we are entering Foney War; Four -week accumulation of both teams will see that the Atlantic won competitive representatives on both sides.
Rory McILOY, Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton are playing Irish Open this week. The following week they will join the rest of the team at the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth.
At that time, the majority of Bradley’s arrangement joined PGA Tour at the Procore Championship in Napa, California.
There will be plenty of conversations in the intervening period, and both sides will not be eager to be accepted as favorites for Bethpage Showdown.
Donald already started. “Obviously, on paper, they’re very strong,” he said. “This home advantage is quite good. So, I believe we’re still inadequate.”
However, as expected, the potentially equipped with experience to upset the proportions.
Listen to a special golf on Monday, September 1 at BBC Sounds and Radio 5, analyzing the teams with Iain Carter, Oli Wilson and Trish Johnson.
