There are currently 10,800 peace forces in Unifil, including 903 from India.
The decision to extend the interpretation was carefully prepared by France to avoid a US veto that would reflect Israel’s opposition to Unifil.
French Mission’s accusation D’Affares Jay Dharmmadikari welcomed the limited extension and said: “Any early withdrawal would prevent, weaken and even weaken the efforts of the Lebanese government.”
“This valuable time will be necessary to support the accumulation of the Lebanese Armed Forces and establish the authority of the Lebanese state throughout its own region,” he said.
“This will last support a US extension of Unifil.”

Iran -backed Hezbollah forces also challenged Unifil and operates in the areas where he patrolled.
Unifil was created by the Council with the authority to monitor the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Southern Lebanon in 1978 and to re -establish the Lebanese government in the region.
Israel’s permanent ambassador, Unifil’s “failed” and “Hezbollah took over the region,” he said.
“Today, the Lebanese government has the responsibility to take control of the region and understand that they should be there – not Hezbollah, not anyone else,” he said.
Hezbollah, in recent months by the Israeli operations by hitting the positions by air and land, in 2023 after the attack on Israel Hamas terrorist attack in the region accelerated the operations against his rivals passed UNIFIL.
