Unaccounted cash seized at Sub-Registrar offices in Tiruvannamalai, Jolarpet, Arcot

Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized a total of 1.97 lakh unaccounted cash from Sub-Registrar Offices in Jolarpet, Arcot and Tiruvannamalai towns in the early hours of Thursday.

DVAC sources said that taking advantage of the festive season, a large number of property registrations have been done at these Sub-Registrar offices over the last few weeks.

A team of vigilance officers, including Deputy SP S. Rajiv, DVAC (Tirupattur) and Ranipet Inspector Vijayalakshmi of DVAC, carried out the raid, which began on Wednesday evening. A detailed investigation is ongoing.
