Old generation should step aside when things start running smoothly: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday (January 18, 2026) said that the next generation should take important responsibilities and the older generation should step aside once things start going smoothly.

Mr. Gadkari was speaking at a press conference in Nagpur about Advantage Vidarbha-Khasdar Audhyogik Mahotsav, which was conceptualized by him and organized by Industrial Development Association (AID) president Ashish Kale.

Mr. Gadkari said that Mr. Kale has involved the younger generation in the Advantage Vidarbha initiative. “I believe that the generation should also change gradually.” “Ashish’s father is my friend. Now we should gradually retire and the responsibility should be given to the new generation and once the car starts running smoothly, we should step back and do other work,” Mr. Gadkari said.

Mr. Gadkari, chief mentor of AID, said this is the third year of the Advantage Vidarbha fair being held in Nagpur from February 6-8.

Mr. Gadkari said that Vidarbha region has very good entrepreneurs in various sectors. He added that the aim of the three-day event is to make Vidarbha a strong and thriving growth center on the industrial map of India.

Mr. Gadkari also emphasized the importance of industrial sector, agriculture and its allied sectors and service sector for the development of any region.

Advantage Vidarbha fair will attract the participation of industries from sectors such as textile, plastic, mining, coal, aviation, logistics, IT, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, defence, real estate, renewable energy and startups.
