Unidentified Drone Hits Baghdad Base: Iraq Security Officials

Baghdad: According to Iraqi security sources, a “unidentified” drone hit a military base in Baghdad early on Tuesday.

A safety source told AFP, the first attack hit a radar system at the Taji base and caused only material damage.

The source fell another drone in the Radwaniya region ten kilometers west of Baghdad International Airport, where US troops were deployed at a base as part of an anti -Jihadist coalition.

A government security spokesman Saad Maan confirmed that Taji “unidentified drone hit the radar” and added that another drone “fell next to the generator”, without further details.

Lieutenant General Walid Al-Tamimi said the official Iraqi news agency has not been reported.

There was no claim for the attack.

The strikes come hours after Iran’s launch of missiles at a US military facility in Qatar for retaliation for the American bombing of Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

Iraqi security sources, AFP “so far” Iran has not attacked the bases that host US troops in Iraq, he said.
