Union Cabinet approves six-lane Bhubaneswar Bypass project for ₹8,307.74 cr

In an official statement, it is recommended to develop the project, which is 110 km long in order to address these challenges, as a 6 -lane access controlled Greenfield highway.

“The project will benefit from Odisha and other Eastern states by removing heavy commercial traffic from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha cities.

The project alignment integrates with three major national highways (NH-55, NH-57 and NH-655) and a State Motorway (SH-65), which provides trouble-free connection to the basic economic, social and logistics nodes in Odisha.

The statement also said that the elevated corridor will connect with a large train station, an airport, a proposed multi -mod Logistics Park (MMLP) and two main ports, and that the goods and passengers will facilitate the faster movement in the region.

After completion, Bypass will play a very important role in regional economic growth, strengthen the connection between large religious and economic centers, and open new ways for trade and industrial development.

“The project will also create indirect employment on approximately 74.43 Lakh person-day and 93.04 Lakh Person Days.” He said.
