Met Office names 16 areas facing 33C heatwave on Friday – full list | Weather | News

The Met Office is predicting a heatwave will hit parts of the UK this weekend, with warm weather arriving on Friday. According to the forecaster, temperature levels are expected to rise to 32C on Friday after the country experienced unstable rainy and windy conditions.

The National Weather Agency added that temperatures will rise further on Monday and could reach up to 33C in some areas. Yellow Heat-Health Alert issued by the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA); This means temperatures can have effects on some people’s health and well-being. The warning covers the East Midlands, Eastern England, London and the south-east of England from Wednesday, June 17, and will remain in force until Monday.

Deputy Chief Forecaster Gregory Wolverson said: “This week’s weather reflects a contrast we often see in the summer months, with more unstable conditions moving into the north-west of the UK, while temperatures rise in the south and east.

“As we get closer to the weekend, we will see conditions settle more widely and temperatures rise everywhere. Temperatures are likely to be high enough to meet heatwave thresholds in many parts of southern and eastern England.

“While temperatures may be warm, it’s important to remember that we may not all see the wall-to-wall sunshine and blue skies we experience in May because there are more clouds around.

“There is also the possibility of thunderstorms occurring, particularly later each day, which could cause heavy downpours and localized impacts.”
