This food recall comes after some mince pies were removed from shelves due to fears of a “health risk”.

The Food Standards Association (FSA) said on Tuesday evening (December 23) that it was recalling The Bakewell Bakery’s Shallow Brandy Mince Pies “because they contain milk not specified on the label”.

The FSA continued: “This means that the product poses a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk ingredients.”

Affected batches are six-piece packs with an expiration date of February 2, 3, or 4, 2026. The FSA is advising anyone who has purchased the affected products and has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk ingredients to “do not consume them”. Shoppers must instead return it to the store where they purchased it for a full refund, and no receipt is required.
