Urgent recall alert issued for Little Creatures Little Hazy Lager over injury fears

Australia’s food safety watchdog has issued an urgent recall of a popular beer amid fears cans could burst and cause injuries.
Customers are asked not to open Little Creatures Little Hazy Lager and instead destroy it.
A recall was issued for products with an expiration date of 10/11/2025 after authorities identified a secondary fermentation issue.
In the statement made by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, it was said: “Affected products may contain excessive alcohol and baking soda, which can cause the can to become overpressured. This could cause the can to burst and potentially cause injury.”
Little Hazy Lager is described on the Little Creatures website as “an excellent medium-strength beer at 3.5%.”
“Little Hazy Lager will take you on an adventure; think stone fruits like apricots, peaches and summer melon, along with notes of grapefruit and zesty citrus. Pure joy!”
The beer is sold in Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA.
The Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Pty Ltd product is also available at IGA & Independent liquor retailers in NSW and Coles in WA.
“Consumers should not open or drink this product. Please dispose of the product safely. Contact Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Pty Ltd for safe disposal instructions and to arrange a refund. Consumers with concerns about their health should seek medical advice,” FSANZ advised.
