US: 5 Soldiers Injured In Shooting At Georgia’s Fort Stewart Army Base; Suspect In Custody | World News

New Delhi: According to an official social media mission, at least five soldiers were shot and wounded in an active shooter incident in Fort Stewart, a large US army in Southeast Georgia.
The suspect said that the Major General John Lubas, who commanded the general commander of the army to the 3rd Infantry Department, was defined as Quornelius Radford, the automatic logistics sergeant assigned to his base. Radford reportedly used a personal pistol to open fire on other soldiers.
“I can verify that this is not a military weapon. And we believe it is a personal pistol.” He said.
The motive behind the shots remains uncertain. “We are still not sure of motivation, but we still believe that we will learn more here in a short time,” Lubas said.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, Radford was arrested locally because he had previously continued under his influence.
A locking of Fort Stewart was launched at 11:04 (local time) and then removed in the afternoon.
“All soldiers were treated on the spot and moved to the Winn Army Community Hospital for more treatment. There is no active threat to the community.”
Authorities reported that all five wounded soldiers were in a stable situation in the afternoon and are expected to get rid of their injuries.
Located about 40 miles (64 kilometers) of Savannah, Fort Stewart is the largest US army in the east of the Mississippi River.
The FBI’s Atlanta Department announced that the Savannah office was working closely with the criminal investigation department of the army. The incident is under active investigation.
