BJP MLA Venkataramana Reddy Kept Under House Arrest in Kamareddy

Hyderabad: Kamareddy police kept BJP MLA K Venkataramana Reddy under house arrest on Saturday morning and prevented him from attending a discussion on the Arora land issue at Shishu mandir.
Both Reddy and Adviser to Telangana Government Muhammad Ali Shabbir made allegations and counter-allegations on the land issue. Reddy later accepted the challenge for a debate on the issue at the Shishu mandir in the town.
While Reddy was getting ready to go to the Sishu mandir, the police came to his house and kept him under house arrest. Although Reddy insisted the police allow him to go to the Shishu mandir, the police did not allow him.
Police also took several followers from Congress into preventive detention. Sensing that there would be a law and order problem, the police kept Reddy under house arrest and took Congress activists into preventive custody.
